About The Bible- “16All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” 2
Timothy
3:16 We
believe that every portion of the bible is and
was literally facilitated by the living God. We believe
that men spoke and wrote the scriptures as they
were influenced by the Holy Spirit.
“For
prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God
as
they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:21 Because
of
these truths, we base what we preach, teach and follow on the Bible.
About Jesus- 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the
truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 We
believe that there is only one God, and only one
way to heaven: Jesus. Jesus is fully God and
when He was here on earth, He was both
fully man and fully God.
6 “In his very
nature he was God. But he did not think that being equal with God was
something he should hold on to.7 Instead, he made himself
nothing.
He took on the very nature of a servant. He was made in human form.
8 He appeared as a
man. He came down to the lowest level.
He obeyed God completely, even though it led to his death. In
fact, he
died on a cross.” Philippians
2:6-8. Jesus is part of
a triune God.
About The Trinity- There
is one triune God that has three distinct persons working in perfect
unity. The Trinity worked together
in creation: Genesis 1:26 says, “Let us
make man in our image, in our likeness.” All three personalities were present at
the baptism of Jesus according
to Matt. 3:16-17. Later, the great commission tells us to make
disciples in the name of all three members of the trinity… the Father,
Son and
Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
Jesus spoke to his
disciples as he was
getting ready to leave them: “but the
Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach
you all things…” Yet
although there
are three distinct personalities, Deuteronomy
6:4 tells us, “The Lord
our God, the Lord
is one.”
About Salvation- We
believe that because of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, we have
the
ability to receive salvation through Him.
If one believes wholeheartedly with their heart that He is God,
if they
confess with their mouth and fully surrender their life to Him, they
will indeed find
salvation. 9
“Say with your mouth, "Jesus is
Lord." Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Then you
will be saved.” Romans 10:9
About The Church- We
believe that the church is the bride of Christ and He has chosen the
church to
preach His gospel and accomplish His mission to save and love this
dying,
sinful world. 24Now
as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their
husbands
in everything. 25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ
loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her
holy,
cleansing[a] her by the washing with
water through the
word, Ephesians 5: 24-26. Also
the church is
represented as the body of Christ.
“The body is a unit,
though it is made up
of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So
it is
with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12”
