The internship program at Jericho Road Church exists to give
relevant, ministry experience to an individual who is eager to grow and to be
molded into the specific area of ministry he or she is called to. To be
accepted into the internship program, one must fill out the appropriate
application and be interviewed by the leadership team.
An intern will be given a specific job and ministry
description that is relevant to the specific ministry he or she will be
involved in. Interns will be held accountable weekly for the following:
- How
they are spending their time
- Mentoring
relationships
- Lifestyle
expectations
- Attendance
- Fulfilling
their job/ministry description
- Reading
list update
- Research
paper
Internship time periods will vary for each individual,
however the ideal time period is a three-month term. Interns will meet with
their supervisor for at least three evaluations (time frames will vary). The
first will take place within the first 3 weeks to be sure the intern is
accomplishing his or her tasks. The second review will be a mid-term evaluation
while the last will be the final review which can also be called an ‘exit
interview.’
Interns will be required to have at least one mentoring
relationship. The primary relationship will be with someone of the same gender
who will invest into the intern’s life and also encourage them. This Mentor
will be someone who is in leadership at Jericho Road or is affiliated with
Jericho Road. We will also encourage a second mentoring relationship if we feel
it is applicable. The other relationship will be with someone the intern can
mentor. This will usually be a student or someone with little to no experience
in their faith that the intern can meet with regularly and encourage.
Jericho Road interns will also be given a reading list during their time with us. This list will be 2-3 books chosen by the intern's supervisor and/or mentor.
